I wanted to hate these, I really did. Because I have a love affair with Nightmare Before Christmas I automatically hate anything that I feel may threaten its amazingness.
But damn it. These are really freakin cute. Jack Skellington, Sally and Zero rubber duckies! Absolutely adorable and totally well played. Well played, indeed.
Did you ever want to make out with someone just because they were so overwhelmingly brilliant, witty, and talented? No, this time I’m not talking about Justin Timberlake. What like you’d only compromise your principals for JT? So now you’re some saintly creature that never woke up drunk in a dumpster without your skivvies? Stop being so argumentative, would you? Just look at this drawing and tell me you don’t want to spoon the artist. Go ahead, I dare you.
No wait, it gets cuter. The piece is entitled, “Peer Pressure and Other Couch Tails.” Are you going to tell me your slutty heart still hasn’t melted yet? Wait until you read the artist’s description:
never trust a narwhale..
“uhm… are you sure this is how unicorns are made?”
This artist is full of the adorable. Reading the names of his pieces is like reading poetry. Here’s a quick list:
Now are you ready for the spooning to begin? Still no? How about a sampling from his bio?
I’m a big headed monster with shirts that are too small. I get inspiration from whiskey, horror movies, dating, self-help books, inspirational posters and organized events that take place in malls.
You flip through Etsy, looking for beautiful handmade things and you find crap. CRAP. Sometimes crap so crappy that you wouldn’t dishonor crap by calling it crap. Sometimes the crap is so craptacular, that you hang your head in dismay.
Then you find something like this:
Simple, adorable, ingenious and reasonably priced. Something you COULD make, but didn’t think of. Something that you could reasonably wear in public. Something cute. Then low and behold, faith is restored. Buy these, they are rad.
There are no if’s ands or buts, this is a beautiful brooch.
But the fact remains: This is a sculpture of a lady bangin’ a swan. Apparently it’s based on the Greek myth of Leda, whom Zeus seduced in the guise of a swan. The Greeks were f*cking weird.
