I love Harrison Ford as much as the next girl. No, I probably don’t. Especially if the “next girl” is Calista Flockhart. But that’s another story entirely.

And I definitely don’t love Star Wars nor crochet as much as the next girl. But sometimes, when all things come together into the perfect storm, even I get a little b-a-n-a-n-a-s. Not Calista Flockhart bananas, mind you. But still pretty excited.

As someone who’s always got an eye out for awful crafts, I feel that it’s important to give the occasional shout out to the folks who are doing things right. Two weeks ago I stopped into an SF bookstore and fell instantly in love with this chubby notebook by PinkGhost:

It’s totally adorable, fat, square, and full of lined pages with adorable art, blank pages, and a few tear-out-as-post-cards (but why would you?) pages.

At $22 I was almost ready to buy one when my boyfriend said, “Just look online, you can probably find it cheaper.” Well, they are online (which is great for you out-of-state folks) but at their cheapest they’ll still run you $21.95. I was bummed all week, and as the next weekend grew nearer I got more and more nervous that the bookstore would be out of chubbies when I got back. Thankfully, they were not, and I swung in and grabbed 2 of them.

In my search to find the chubby books online, I also discovered the above artist’s etsy shop, Piktorama. It is full of absolutely adorable prints that would cheer up even the crankiest of cranks.

It’s so nice to be able to share someone who’s doing crafts right.
