Spring is here, summer is close, and foaling season is upon us. Inside millions of horses across the country are, apparently, u-shaped uteruses housing squashed piggy-looking foals. What I’m saying is, this heavy handed imagery probably could have benefited from a more implied subject matter. Or maybe just a few more weeks – then we’d be looking at an adorable colt.

That’s the position the foal is in only for birth. So hey, not a few more weeks. A couple of hours, probably. The whole birthing process in a horse shouldn’t last longer than 45 minutes (aren’t we humans jealous?)

How about “Every autumn I go to slaughter”? It’s a business investment, not a **** my-little-pony.

Kind of looks like the horse is giving birth to a doberman.
