Good grief! This hat reminds me of the hat my husband said his grandmother made him when he was a child. It was a Big Bird hat and he tried desperately to destroy it on the way to school. He managed to pull the pompom off the top but the beak was there to stay, he said. He only wore it when he was within sight of his mother and then stuffed it in his bag.

Unfortunately, he told me, it kept his ears warm.

It took me a second look to realise that the yellow dangly thing by the kid’s ear is the turkey’s leg… the anatomy of this whole thing has now freaked me out. I shouldn’t think so much…
