Bean, if you must know, the placenta does have uses beyond nurturing the child in the womb…the nutrients and hormones it contains will help balance the body after birth. It can stop a hemhorrage (excessive bleeding) and ward off postpartum depression. I didn’t eat mine, but I did have it professionally encapsulated (the placenta is steamed, dried, ground into powder, then put into capsules that you swallow like any other pill.) Say what you want but it kept me from having severe PPD with my second child!! I could never eat it though. And the bear just looks SCARY. It would give a kid bad dreams.

That is wrong on so many levels. How would you not throw up while sewing a stuffed animal out of an organ that was previously inside you?
But the idea of eating it is worse. Why don’t these people just toss the things- they aren’t important anymore!

I have a friend who made sausage from her placenta. But you know, a placenta teddy bear trumps placenta sausage in my books. Way to go!
