This is awesome - and a great Dia de Los Muertos Shrine thing. A fabulous idea. :-) I know, it looks weid, but I love Dia de los Muertos art!

@Sabra, Sorry for replying to myself; I forgot something. The orange things are most likely meant to be tissue paper flowers, another common bit, both to decorate the shrines and just in general. (I made them in elementary school.)

I'm from Texas, this doesn't bug me. Skull dollies are actually common Mexican folk art (though I can't recall ever seeing Barbies repurposed as such). The shrine is a Dia de los Muertos shrine--you have the photograph of the deceased, & her favorite food. The holiday is often celebrated by spending it with the dead (we will take any excuse to barbeque & drink beer, even if it requires being in a cemetery). This is unique, and out of season, but if it really disturbs you, you should probably stay far away from San Antonio, because we sell this sort of thing year 'round. (It's also a pretty common collectible.) And the folks at Mi Tierra still have their shrine up.

Yup, yup, gonna head me on down to the Goodwill and buy me some Barbies. Gonna paint them up to look like skeletons and make a wreath outta them. See what I did there? Took to craptastic ideas and turned them into a craptacular one. I'm brilliant. Now pass the cheese.

Doesn't every one have a shrine to a zombie Barbie in their room? I guess I didn't realize it wasn't an everyday thing. Learn something new on the internet every day.
