This is awesome – and a great Dia de Los Muertos Shrine thing. A fabulous idea. I know, it looks weid, but I love Dia de los Muertos art!

I'm from Texas, this doesn't bug me. Skull dollies are actually common Mexican folk art (though I can't recall ever seeing Barbies repurposed as such). The shrine is a Dia de los Muertos shrine--you have the photograph of the deceased, & her favorite food. The holiday is often celebrated by spending it with the dead (we will take any excuse to barbeque & drink beer, even if it requires being in a cemetery). This is unique, and out of season, but if it really disturbs you, you should probably stay far away from San Antonio, because we sell this sort of thing year 'round. (It's also a pretty common collectible.) And the folks at Mi Tierra still have their shrine up. Sabra’s last blog post..Ooh, a stash game.
